Viktor Hertz - Designer & Photographer

Viktor Hertz is a freelance design artist and photographer currently based in Uppsala, Sweden. His work aims to make people aware of the effects that social media can have on people, but his work does it in a hilarious, fun way through the recreation of logos. The "procrastination" piece is one of his many funny work pieces but this piece of work is definitely one of his work pieces that i could personally relate to, as I use Facebook to procrastinate all the time instead of actually getting on with my work. So by simply changing the logo to show the real reason people use Facebook creates awareness in a playful way. Viktor Hertz is an expert in designing posters, he's currently a bit obsessed with custom art movie posters, but tries to stretch his creative muscles as wide as possible.

Melanie Daveid - Art Director

Melanie Daveid originates from Austria but is based in Berlin. Her step into the creative industry were through her artworks and illustrations. Her work are beautifully formed detailed pieces of genius. She has worked with brands as big as myComfort, Puma and Redbull, working on apps that associate with the brands, she definitely has one of the best freelance portfolios that I have seen in 2016, it will be interesting to see what work she does in the future.

Andrew Fairclough - Graphic designers

Andrew Fairclough is a self-taught illustrator, designer and art director working in Sydney, Andrew Fairclough started out designing skate and snowboard graphics and has moved on to work with top clients including GQ, American Express, Jack Daniels and Penguin Books. I love his work as I love the idea of creating an idea or a story in the mind, and through his work he tells a story through imagination. By creating a design within the silhouette of a head it creates the idea that what you are seeing inside is what the person is thinking about which I think is really clever. His work is inspired by mid-century spot illustrations with a dash of vintage sci-fi and comic art, and he enjoys working with a limited palette to evoke the nostalgia and tactility of found art. I would definitely suggest checking his work out on behance.

Smirnoff Caipiroska peelable bottle - Packaging

J Walter Thompson created this effective peel away package design for Smirnoff Vodka. With the release of the apple flavoured vodka, the brand wanted a new inventive packaging design that interacts the customers in a creative way. I think the idea of peeling an apple is a genius way of interacting the customers with the package design and it successfully shows the flavour of the vodka. This design would be a brilliant gift idea, you would need to have amazing wrapping skills you can just simply give them the bottle and they can peel away at the packaging themselves. So if you need a Christmas gift idea and they like vodka then this could be the perfect gift.

CS Light Bulbs - Packaging

The new packaging for these light bulbs are full of bright ideas, borrowed from the natural world. The design and art direction was by Angelina Pischikova and the detailed illustrations were designed by Anna Orlovskaya, the clever designs use the light bulb shapes to really capture the shapes of different insects. The inspiration behind all these designs were the idea of a firefly, I love these designs as I thinks it's really invented to use the product as part of the packaging design. Decorated with detailed drawings of insects, these boxes use clever openings to show off the lightbulbs. The bulbs themselves are paired with certain bugs depending on their shape and size. Long, thin bulbs are stored in dragonfly boxes, while the coiled stripes of an energy saving bulb become the abdomen of a bumble bee. You can explore the full range of bulbs and boxes in the gallery of photographs by Yury Rumovski.

LOVEFIELD (Short Film by Mathieu Ratthe) - Entertainment

Lovefield is a short film that combines elements of horror, suspense and drama to create a story that takes the audience on a roller coaster ride of emotions. The short film cleverly builds up suspension to get the audience on the edge of there seats to then completely surprise the audience with a complete plot twist that changes the mood and emotion of the short film. The short film is very misleading as it starts by making you believe the film is going down an evil, insidious root of murder, but takes a pleasant surprise by changing the plot to the birth of a child. This is a classic case of not judging a book by its cover, Its definitely worth checking out and taking on the ride of emotions.

The Mummy movie poster - Entertainment

All action, fantasy and adventure movie fans cant get excited as tom cruise is staring in a new movie called "The Mummy" that is gonna bring all three genres into play. The movie is about an ancient princess that awakens from her crypt beneath the desert, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia, and terrors that defy human comprehension. The movie poster was released and already I'm excited, The old meets modern look of the poster creates intriguing questions about the history that will be involved in the new movie. "welcome to the new world of god and monsters" this statement alone is enough to spike anyone's interest, I just hope the movie lives up to the hype that its creating. Role of summer 2017 for the release of this movie, I know I'm going to be first in line to see this movie.
